Salamu alaikum
Why did God make us longing to know him at the same time made us incapable of know him?
In the name of Allah the beneficent the merciful
God made us longing to know him but he didn’t make us incapable of knowing him which is according to our devotion to know him, fore we know him with our minds as we see him with our minds, just like the commander of faithful imam Ali (A.S) said: surely our brains are incapable of knowing him in his existence and in person because he is the surrounding and human beings are the surrounded, the surrounding knows about the surrounded not the other way round, therefore we are incapable of knowing him in person but we know him by his name and qualities and his deeds, and that is what is needed from us and with such knowledge we become eager to now our Lord even though we are incapable.
